MATT TARBELL PHIL PETROFF
Matt Tarbell and Phil Petroff are Central New York blues veterans whose sound is built on decades of live performance and deep roots in the tradition. Harmonica powerhouse Matt Tarbell spent seven years touring nationally—from Maine to Key West, throughout the Midwest and into Texas—sharing bills with legends including Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, James Harmon, and William Clarke, and performing alongside members of The J. Geils Band’s Blues Time project.
Guitarist and vocalist Phil Petroff has toured with The Nighthawks and shared stages with artists such as Albert Collins and Johnny Copeland, earning a reputation for soulful playing and authentic blues grit.
Together, they deliver high-energy electric blues shaped by real road experience and proud CNY roots—bringing fire, feel, and authenticity to the 2026 New York State Blues Festival.
