2025 CFCU KJ James Memorial Scholarship Winners

The New York State Blues Festival is thrilled to announce the winners of the 2025 CFCU KJ James Memorial Scholarships, revealed during this year’s record-breaking weekend of live music at Chevy Court.

First place ($3000) was awarded to Joey Trovato, second place ($2000) to Nova Spires, and third place ($1000) to Madison Humphrey. Each recipient was recognized for their outstanding musicianship, stage presence, and commitment to the blues tradition.

This scholarship program, established in memory of Syracuse blues legend KJ James, honors his dedication to mentoring young musicians. Funded by CFCU Community Credit Union, these awards provide direct support to emerging artists, helping them pursue their musical education and performance opportunities.

The New York State Blues Festival congratulates this year’s winners and thanks all participants for sharing their music and passion with festival audiences.
