The 22nd New York State Blues Festival Returns July 18-19, 2014
This year, more than any other I can recall, is the most important year
of the festival’s history.
There is a powerful, singular source of energy brewing in the Syracuse Blues Kitchen.
We are heating up the blues machine, deliberately causing a nationwide meltdown...and it’s
awesome. Syracuse and the surrounding communities are so juiced that we have a weekend
set aside for the 22nd New York State Blues Festival that Syracuse University has measured
a new blues-vibe on their Richter scale - and it’s not because of the Orange’s breathtaking
season on the basketball court either. All Roads Lead To Syracuse!
The NYS Blues Festival’s board of directors have been working with more focus, more
conviction, and more determination than ever before. There is a commitment among the
members that is unprecedented. Our team knows there is much that needs to be brought
to the table and everyone is bringing it.
Our immediate goal is to raise the funding necessary to produce the type of community
event that is expected of us and we are working diligently to achieve this. On July 18-19, 2014,
Clinton Square and many downtown venues will be participating in a revival of the blues like
we've never witnessed before. We will be showcasing an incredible line up of local, regional,
national and international talent. We want Syracuse to come alive! We want people to talk about
our city, our community and the festival like it was the second coming of Robert Johnson,
Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Jimi and Stevie by the time this blues festival weekend is over.
I suggest you book your rooms and your flights now.
